This project involved intensive planning in the design phase, weighing two major pathways: an addition versus a first floor layout remodel which would ultimately expand their kitchen. After meeting with designers and engineers, they decided on the latter, keeping the existing footprint and altering the layout. The remodel sought several goals: a larger kitchen and dining space for entertaining, a large island to be used as their primary kitchen dining space, two dishwashers, a walk-in pantry, and the addition of a wet bar.
We worked closely with their interior designer to make their vision a reality, through structural changes including the removal of a wall to open these spaces. Flipping the location of their existing kitchen and dining room expanded the functionality and usable space for each area. The altered layout also added room for a walk-in pantry.
We ensured functionality, while maintaining the kitchen’s natural sunlight. Raising the height of the window maintained natural light while allowing for the installation of perimeter kitchen cabinets, thus maximizing the space’s beauty and function.
Their vision, combined with our design and execution produced remarkable spaces that are uniquely theirs.
